Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy – Please read carefully Effective from 1st July 2018.

The cost of a consultation (usually around 50 minutes in duration) is $175 for a Clinical Psychologist, and $145 for a Psychologist (including our Clinical Psychology Registrars), payable at the time of your appointment.  If, for some reason you need to cancel or alter your appointment time, you are required to give at least 24 hours notice.  Cancellations that are received inside of this time frame will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the consultation fee, plus GST. If less than 2 hours notice is provided, the full fee for the scheduled consultation will be charged.

For appointments that are scheduled for a Monday, please note that advice of any inability to attend is required to be provided by 3pm on the previous Friday.  This is necessary as reception is not attended to over the weekend, and thus any notification provided on a Saturday or Sunday will not be received until Monday morning.

Please note that at DVCP after hours appointments are often in high demand, and we can have a list of people waiting to access appointments during these times. As such, the following cancellation policy will apply for after-hours appointments:  For evening appointments that are scheduled for 5pm or later, notification of any cancellation or need to postpone will be required by 3pm the previous business day.  This ensures that reception has adequate time to contact those who are hoping to access one of these times.  In the instance of appointments that are scheduled for a Saturday, notification is required by 3pm on the previous Thursday.  Once more, this is to ensure that those who are hoping to utilise one of these appointment times are given adequate notice to change their own commitments in order to attend.

Psychological appointments funded through such systems as WorkCover, TAC and Department of Veterans Affairs are also subject to the cancellation policy outlined above.  In these instances, any fee incurred will be forwarded to the client, not to the service funding the specific treatment.  Additionally, please be aware that Medicare rebates are not available for cancelled appointments which incur a cancellation fee.

Thank you for taking the time to review this policy.  If you have questions or concerns about any of the information contained above, please bring them up during your sessions so that any issues or concerns can be resolved.

Kind regards,

Dr Lisa Forrester
